Courage! Fight! Freedom! Justice! Seven women, seven stories, a thousand questions. Join us for a thought-provoking and emotional journey about human rights around the globe. Seven is based on interviews with seven women rights activists from Guatemala, Northern Ireland, Russia, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Cambodia.

None of them is a saint and none a martyr, but all of them have had to overcome impossible odds in their work for human rights. They tell their personal stories with humor, seriousness and passion, relating the terrible and the great events in their lives. Seven is a documentary play of concern to all; the play attracts new audiences to the theater and inspires to a commitment to human rights issues. What issues concern you? Do you choose to ignore them or to act?

The play was created in 2007 by playwrights Paula Cizmar, Catherine Filloux, Gail Kriegel, Carol K. Mack, Ruth Margraff, Anna Deavere Smith and Susan Yankowitz with the support of Vital Voices Global Partnership.

The performance and touring concept for Seven On Tour is developed by Swedish producer Hedda Krausz Sjögren in cooperation with the National Touring Theatre (Riksteatern) and the Swedish Institute.
